Conversion Rate. The percentage of website visitors who complete a desired action (form submission, purchase, download, etc.). CVR = Conversions ÷ Sessions × 100. A key indicator of landing page and funnel effectiveness.
What is CVR
CVR (Conversion Rate) measures what fraction of your visitors take the action you want them to take. It's the bridge between traffic and business outcomes.
CVR Formula
CVR (%) = Number of Conversions ÷ Number of Sessions × 100
Example: 1,000 sessions and 15 form submissions = 1.5% CVR
Typical CVR Benchmarks

- • B2B service sites: 1–5%
- • Dedicated landing pages: 3–10%

Improving CVR
The highest-impact levers: headline clarity, CTA copy, form length, page load speed, and social proof (testimonials, logos, numbers). A/B testing is the methodical path to improvement.
