KPI
読み方:K-P-I
Key Performance Indicator. A quantifiable metric used to evaluate how effectively a business is achieving its objectives. Marketing KPIs typically include lead volume, CVR, organic traffic, and CPA. KPIs should be tied directly to business goals, not just activity.
What is a KPI
A KPI (Key Performance Indicator) is a measurement that tells you whether you're moving toward a goal. Good KPIs are tied to outcomes, not just activity—"meetings booked" is a KPI; "emails sent" is a vanity metric.
SMART KPI Framework
- • Specific: Exactly what is being measured
- • Measurable: Can be quantified
- • Achievable: Realistic target
- • Relevant: Connected to a business objective
- • Time-bound: Has a measurement deadline
Example Marketing KPI Cascade
- • Primary: 20 qualified leads per month
- • Intermediate: Service page visit rate >40%, form display rate >25%
- • Leading indicator: 5,000 organic sessions/month
Common Mistake
Tracking too many KPIs dilutes focus. Start with 3–5 primary KPIs. More metrics belong in a secondary monitoring layer, not the primary performance review.
